Q>Celebrate Christmas? A> Of Course

QUESTION RECEIVED: (From Africa)
My question (statement)  is that  the word Christmas is not found in the Bible.   Then why should one celebrate it when it is clearly taught in the bible that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God and the word Christmas does not come from the mouth of God. Why should one create and celebrate it?

 MY ANSWER:
The word Bible is not found in The Bible.
The word Trinity is not found in the Bible.
That game can be used to argue many points that make no sense.
Here is a news flash-God Loves his Son His one and only Son Jesus Christ.
At His Son’s baptism God said so
Matthew 3:17  English Standard Version (ESV)
“17 and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”

God is totally in love with his Son.
John 3:35  English Standard Version (ESV)
“35 The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand.”

The birth of God’s son was epic.
Read Luke 2 and check out the heralding angels.  YES!!!  This was important.
Why?
God sent his son, part of the Trinity, to live a perfect life, die as the only Son and Lamb of God, to pay for the sins of all who would repent and believe.  Those who repent and turn form sin and confess Jesus Christ as Lord receive forgiveness of sins, are declared righteous before God and inherit eternal life.  Have you done this?

Yes the church gave this celebration Christmas.
Celebrate it and be joyful.  The angels and shepherds in Luke 2 did.
Do not be more religious than Jesus.

A Savior was born.  Go and tell.
