The 7 With Kevin "Chappy" Hynes
Kevin
“Chappy” Hynes is the strong gospel preaching chaplain of the Georgia Bulldogs.
He has
served as a United States Marine, a law enforcement officer and now Jesus
Christ.
He
serves as the team chaplain of the Georgia Bulldogs coming to Athens with coach
Richt.
We
love his strong dependence on the gospel of salvation.
“Chappy”
gets us kicked off in this game week as the Dawgs head to Clemson this
Saturday.

did you first get passionate about football?
KH- “ I
got passionate about football in 1983.
While serving in the United States Marine Corps, I met a Marine from
Tulsa Ok who became my best friend. He
was a Sooner Fan and turned me on to college football.”

Who was your first favorite player and or team.
KH- “Favorite player…Any player on our team.”

What is one or some of your favorite football memories?
“Favorite
Football memory…Greene to Haynes…2001 UGA vs TN”

call it the “hobnail” game as the late great Larry Munson called this great
play that crushed Tennessee in 2001.)
4) Can you name one favorite football event that
says "That's why I care about football"?
KH- “Why I care…Fri night Devo’s, Pre-Game Chapels,
Weekly Bible Studies and Because Football is a tough team sport.”
5) What is a Bible verse you refer to daily?
Why?
KH- 1 John
1:9 Because the Christian life is about
a relationship, it’s not about being perfect, it’s about confession,
repentance, trust and faith.

(ESV) “ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us
