God's Voice or The Devil?

QUESTION RECEIVED:

How can you tell when the Lord is answering you or the Devil?

MY ANSWER:

Yes God's word answers this question.

1 John 4:1 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
" 1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world."

Do not worry. God is big enough handle any questioning man can offer, read Job.

1 John 4:2-6 further talks about testing to see if you are hearing the Spirit of God, who we refer to as the Holy Spirit or the voice of Satan.

"2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; 3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world. 4 You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. 5 They are from the world; therefore they speak as from the world, and the world listens to them. 6 We are from God; he who knows God listens to us; he who is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error."

Yes, Satan used Scripture (Luke 4:1-13) to try to tempt Jesus Christ to sin in the wilderness.
The Spirit of God will not contradict God's revealed Word in the Bible.
Yet, as stated earlier, Scripture can be misapplied. The truth of the gospel is consistent. All 66 books of the Bible will bear witness to the love of God and the message of salvation, even because of or despite the evilness of man.

1.) The Holy Spirit is truth. 1 Corinthians 2:10 (NASB) "10 For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God"

2.) The Holy Spirit knows your truth-the "evil one" does not. The Spirit has and is wisdom. 1 Corinthians 2:10 - 11"10 For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. 11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God.

3.) The Spirit is part of the Trinity-(Father, Son and Holy Ghost)
You will be confirmed by wisdom and truth. Satan is described as the author of confusion. This Scripture says call on The Spirit of God.
John 14:16 (NASB) 16 "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;"

When you repent from your sins you receive the Holy Spirit in Salvation.
You now have understood and experienced that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins. You have now forgiveness of sins, peace with God, and citizenship in Heaven when you have repented and turned to Jesus Christ to receive salvation. The Spirit Himself bore the message of Christ to the redeemed.

You are in relationship with God's Spirit. Know Him.

Ephesians 4:30 (NASB)
"30 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption."

Jesus said in John 10:27 (NASB) -
"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;"

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God and Jesus also in the mystery of the Trinity.
You can know this voice.
