In A Crazy Church? - Use Your Feet

QUESTION RECEIVED:

We had a revival a few months ago, the preacher said to the others associate ministers that they are to preach Jesus and the pastor. It sounded crazy to me.......Is there any reference in the Bible to this? Another said... that blessings from God flows down through my bishop and then to the members. Again, I think that is crazy. Is there any reference in the Bible for this? Am I crazy, because I feel that I should start looking for another church to attend? This is begining to sound like a cult to me. Please help me? I do not want to be be in a church that is not teaching the Bible.

MY ANSWER:
By the words you are saying, if they are accurate - never attend that church again. Flee!!!

It is pretty simple on preaching.
Preach Jesus!

1 Corinthians 1:23
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
"23 but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness,"

Looks like you got yourself into some foolishness.

You need to flee when someone distorts the gospel.

Galatians 1:8 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
"8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! "

No you do not want to be in a church that distorts the gospel or the Bible.
Scripture gives a dire warning to those who distort the Word.

Revelation 22:18-19 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
"18 I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book; 19 and if anyone takes away from thewords of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book."

Cults distort Scripture.
A pastor, bishop or elder is one who is a servant leader who protects the integrity of the gospel, Scripture and the character of the church. The pastor feeds and cares and protects his people.
Yes pastors are as a Shepard. Yet we all have a Chief Shepard.

1 Peter 5:1-5
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
5 Therefore, I exhort the elders among you, as your fellow elder and witness of the sufferings of Christ, and a partaker also of the glory that is to be revealed, 2 shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion, but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not for sordid gain, but with eagerness; 3 nor yet as lording it over those allotted to your charge, but proving to be examples to the flock. 4 And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. 5 You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders;..."

Know you are saved only by repenting (turning away from) sin by the perfect life, death and burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He took the sin of believers on the cross and took the wrath (our punishment) from God intended for sinners.
The forgiven sinners are the church! Forgiven sinners receive forgiveness of sin, peace with God and eternal life in Heaven.
The forgiven sinners are the church!
Know you are saved and join a New Testament church!
