Christmas Programs And The First Evangelists

Thanksgiving 2011

Psalm 26:7
King James Version (KJV)
7That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works.

On Thanksgiving old sports columnist like Furman Bisher of the Atlanta Journal often had their annual "what I am thankful for" column. I guess I liked local "The Daily Times" sports columnist Phil Jackson's style better.

This has been some more year in a lot of ways. The Lord has seen us through.

Samuel 7:12
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
12 Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the LORD has helped us.”

Thank you Lord for my wife, son, father, brother and sisters.

Sympathy for the Preacher (Not the devil, hey leave them gospel preachers alone)

QUESTION RECEIVED:

A visiting pastor does not wait to be introduced but takes the microphone from the praise and worship leader and starts to preach. Is this correct?

MY ANSWER:

Here is what goes on in a God honoring Biblical New Testament worship service.
In worship we read, sing, say, hear, preach, pray and see the Bible in the Lord's Supper and baptism to participate in biblical sanctioned worship. How we introduce preachers is not listed in Scripture.
What is a worship leader? What are their biblical qualifications

Painful Worship in Church Music Wars

QUESTION RECEIVED:

Our worship team plays the music at a very high decibel due to which I use ear plugs. Our Pastor explains that when we get to heaven there will be millions of Angels who will be constantly praising God Almighty and the decibel level will be far greater then at our church. Your thoughts on this please

***This question was received from another country and not one of our great Hall County Churches.

MY ANSWER:

Worship styles can be divisive to the church body. From your question worship music it seems can cause pain in

Sin, Law and Grace

QUESTION RECEIVED:

Hi there. I am confused on what sin is. I have my own view on what sin is. I believe that sin is not doing what the Bible says to do and I believe that it is doing what the Bible says not to do. However, I am not sure whether this is the correct take on sin. People call me legalistic for believing this way. Am I believing the right belief on sin? Please reply as this is causing me a lot of anxiety. Thanks. Please don't re-direct me to an article for I have already read the articles on sin. I am still confused.

MY ANSWER:

It is great that you are pursuing understanding of a very important subject that many will not pursue. We can read a lot of theologians and

Another Church Discipline Question

QUESTION RECEIVED:

My pastor told two couples in our church that they were in sin, although not directly. This was done so by telling all the elders in the church about their sin of gossiping. The issue was then brought before the church, but the church never made any judgment on this. Isn't that an unbiblical way of confronting someone, Matthew 18? Also, is a pastor's opinion a reason to cast these two people out of fellowship?

MY ANSWER:

First the pastor should go to the couples accused of this destructive sinful lifestyle. If this sin of gossiping, a sure ministry killer, is not dealt with then the pastor should get an elder or two, in love and care for the

Prayer For Our Ministry And Your Prayer Requests 11-6

Friends that read this blog.
Thanks for doing so.
Please pray for this ministry to the Lord at this time that I am laboring in.
Some great things have happened.
1. Some unexpected but appreciated financial support.
The support boosted me. Not the money, though it is appreciated and needed, but the sincerity and endorsement of older saints who have known and support me.
2. I have been asked to speak this Friday night to a high school football team, the Mount Pisgah Patriots. It has been months since I have been asked to preach the gospel to another group.
I am thrilled and ready to go.
3. I just got accepted to be endorsed as an evangelist
