False Start Rapture and Our Poor Christian Education and Theology: From Protestants, Liberals, Conservatives, Calvinist, Dispensationalists, Armenians and Pentecostals

This weekend was jokingly known as "Rapture Weekend" by those mocking radio Bible teacher Harold Camping, an 89 year old radio station chain owner, who was trained as an engineer. His false teaching made many sell all, give a lot, if not all of their money, and travel with a fleet of vehicles with fancy signs painted on them and buy billboards throughout the land to spread the news that the "rapture" or the return of Christ , the eschaton, would occur this past Saturday at 6:00A.M. May 21st 2011. My friend Johnny Pless noted that while waiting for this apocalypse I was using my blog to write about my views of the 11 greatest University of Georgia Football players in history. I guess I wanted to get my mind off of horrible theology and religious nonsense. Now it is time to look at the horrible Christian Education, theology, doctrine that has not just been put out by a heretical radio station owner in California.
There is enough blame to go along with our group of Baptists, Methodists, Presbyterians, Catholics, Anglicans, Episcopalians, Armenians, Calvinists and Dispensationalists. Today as a group those who profess Jesus Christ as Lord have clearly done a poor job of getting the world ready for the "Blessed Hope" of the appearance of Christ or for those who die before His return to meet Him for reward or judgement.

This article will cover the bad theology and laziness of our churches, conservative and liberal, and how they got us in our spiritual malaise.
1. Harold Camping's -there are lot's of them.
2. Conservative Seminaries.
3. Liberal Seminaries.
4. Rotten Doctrine or Hatred of Biblical Doctrine.

1. Harold Camping - is an 89 year old leader of Family International Radio, a chain of Christian radio stations, based in California. He was trained as an engineer at Cal-Berkley. His group started as with some people of the Christian Reformed Church, Bible Baptist, so called conservative Presbyterians and others. He has gone from a 5-point Calvinist to an extreme free-will position. He has set many dates for the return of Christ. His most recent wrong declaration was Saturday May 21st 2011. He has caused many of his followers financial ruin, humiliation and a shaken faith. He has caused confusion and derision from those who are not saved. We all in the church have been told to hear and read the clear words of Jesus Christ in Matthew 24:36
“But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only."[ESV]
But no, he gave a false interpretation to this passage and harmed and ridiculed the cause of Christ. Harold Camping, radio station operator, not a pastor, or biblical scholar, in the past decade called out all, ALL Christians to leave any and every church because ALL churches on Earth were apostate.
Like the serpent in the Garden of Eden, Camping mixed a little biblical truth and added his teaching from his reclusive driven induced craziness.
Take your favorite false teacher. He, like the serpent in the Garden of Eden, takes one easy to understand part of the Truth and goes his own unscriptural way.

A woman once told John Wesley "God does not need your Oxford education." Wesley replied "And He does not need your ignorance either."
American seminaries, the educators of preachers and teachers, what has happened on your watch?

We send people to Sunday School but as a group we are coming home stupid. Our people are ripe for false prophets of all stripes.

2. Conservative Seminaries- What have your alumni taught? In the late 1979, the conservative wing of the Southern Baptist Convention started to overtake the power structure of the convention and seminaries. I have heard horror stories concerning that time period from solid Christian pastors and faculty concerning heresies taught by some of the denominational schools financed from the tithes of faithful poor working couples, widows, middle class married and single parent families,and the wealthy philanthropist, thinking they were supporting God's work. The Southern Baptist Church I grew up in decried the turn of events and that academic integrity was at stake from the pulpit. We weekly in youth group, the pulpit and Sunday School talked about "strokes" "warm fuzzies" (I kid not) and rapping (not the music kind but expressing your emotions-it was the 1970's). I thought we were a conservative church since we had a preacher with a doctorate who wore a dark suit. The sermons were dull so I assumed they were conservative. The church of my youth eased into the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, the self proclaimed moderates (declared liberal by the conservatives). The Sunday School literature was full of pop psychology -like how to relieve stress. I went to other churches as I grew into young adulthood. The conservatives had Sunday School literature also. Cover up the authors names and you could not guess which was which. Something was missing in both. Theology and the demonized "D" word Doctrine was absent from the teaching. Doctrine seemed to be talked about but not taught.
Conservatives who do not teach doctrine get Harold Camping's. Liberals get Rob Bell's.

3. Liberal seminaries - they often used to describe themselves as "post Christian" or often today schools of religious or theological education. At the one I attended,several teachers made it a point to say their job was not to train pastors, that was what the church was for. The church (the denomination I was a member of then) said they sent us to seminary to learn how to become pastors.
Most liberal seminaries admit it (just not when sending a speaker to a local church in front of the folks who are paying the bills). Most people would label all the Southern Baptist seminaries, and Dallas School of Theology as conservative due to their inerrant view of the Bible and view of Salvation known only through Christ Alone. Liberal seminaries do not. Liberal seminaries do not have an inerrant view of the Bible. They support women's ordination by societal norms and not by dealing with the Scriptural text as the authority on the matter. There are conservatives who support the ordination of women through their interpretation of Scripture. These schools will proudly defend heretical teaching as academic freedom-that many true believers pay for from the offering plate. Many are historical, poorly attended and have great endowments so they can maintain and ignore their Christian and denominational heritage.
And here is the main way liberal seminaries cause Rob Bell's, they deny as a group penal substitution also known as substitutionary atonement. That is they deny that Jesus Christ died as a "propitiation" or for the punishment of our sins. You may find a few token members of the orthodox faith there but you would have to dig to find them. They deny as a majority that Jesus Christ died to pay for the penalty of our sins. In the liberal seminary I graduated, a non Southern Baptist seminary, I had a female student in a class, who was Jewish, burst in to tears about our class being too Christological (Too much content about Jesus.). She was then consoled by the teacher. I have heard in class discussions about salvation being holistic -physical, societal and the cross just showed how much God loved us. A partial truth before heresy comes serpent style. I heard from students and teachers "penal substitution" was "divine child abuse". I heard a fellow student laughed at bringing up John 3:16 as an example for us to be saved from our sins in that conversation. Now you produce Rob Bells's instead of Harold Camping's. Both lead away from the God of the Bible.

4. Rotten Doctrine and hated Biblical theology.
The body of Christ is suffering from Calvinist more concerned with 5 points than conversion of the lost, Armenian TV preachers railing against "Eternal Security", Dispensational preachers who can not talk about any thing but the Millennial Kingdom, Liberals who can not talk about anything but the evil Southern Baptist, Southern Baptist riding the latest "Purpose Driven- Jabez - NOOMA-Go Green-latest prepackaged junk", Pentecostals who will not put in check their own who preach the "prosperity gospel" and "slaying in the Spirit" every time a camera is on.

Maybe these guys are running out of things to preach on. I do not understand. The late Atlanta Journal Constitution columnist Lewis Grizzard talked about his country church preacher of his youth. Grizzard reasoned preaching could not be that hard, the preacher had that big black book to go by.

When the gospel is just not enough, or believed or practiced, we as the church let our message get hijacked as the message of the church - repeatedly.

Why is it hard to share the Gospel to the world? In the fullness of the Trinity God sent His son to die on the cross to pay for the sins of many including me. God sent His Holy Spirit to convict us of our sins. We must repent and believe the Gospel as we are saved by the perfect life death burial and resurrection of the God Man Jesus Christ. We gain righteousness status before God and eternal life with the Father. We miss the wrath to come. We get to evangelize our loved ones who are lost and learn to love and evangelize those we once hated.

We, as the church have acted as Arrogant Eggheads to Hard Headed Lone Rangers in goofing up the gospel. Look what the world thinks the gospel we are displaying is. Our preaching and teaching time is precious.

Church Discipline for Pastors

Question received:

If a pastor at one church leaves his wife for a married woman and has to leave his church, can he go to another church and start being a prominent figure as in being in the praise band? the pastor of the second church gave him "steps" to take for repentance as says its ok even though he continued to date the 2nd women.

My Answers:

Wow! That is a lot of questions and biblical topics in just two sentences. This is a tragic situation described. Unfortunately this is a situation familiar to many. The Lord in his providence does provide us help in the Word in biblical theology and actual incidents recorded in Scripture. We will break each question down and then answer them.

#1 You are asking about how a sexual sin should be disciplined, especially when a pastor is the offender?
First read 1st Timothy 5:19 ESV " Do not admit a charge against an elder except on the evidence of two or three witnesses."
Make sure you have a valid accusation against anybody especially a pastor. You can destroy a church with a false witness and be judged by man and the Lord.
Their is an order in how to proceed with flagrant unrepentant sin against God.
Matthew 18:15-17 ESV " 15 "If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. 16But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. 17If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector."

Your goal is to "gain your brother" as he repents and puts away his godless lifestyle. This has to be handle in love and concern for your brother. Self righteousness will hurt you, the pastor and the church. You want the victory for all.
If the pastor does not heed the discipline treat him like "a Gentile and a tax collector." In other words-cut him of-excommunicate him. If he is a Christian he will hate to be cut of from the body of Christ. Excommunication could lead him to repentance or perhaps salvation.

#2 Who can participate in the "praise band", and is it really a prominent position?
My question in an answer to you is, When did being in a "praise band" get to be a prominent position?
"Praise Band " membership is what? Someone who bangs a tambourine with there palm? Toots a horn? This is a church problem when people who should be participating in worship are being exalted for their worship style in entertaining, not worshipping the Lord. There is a a worship leader in church, it is the senior pastor. Why? Worship is built on and around the Word of God. I have seen the unsaved asked to play music in church. Is it wrong? Not if they are humble and respectful. They are not making any claims of faith. To make rock stars out of church worshipers is insane.
You need to make sure if the pastor was guilty if he has repented or has been saved since the adultery. We need to make sure if he is under church discipline, not if he plays the triangle during "Shout to the Lord".

#3 Can this man be restored as a pastor?
I think the man can be restored by a long and lengthy discipleship drenched in biblical repentance, openness and humbleness led by an elder pastor. He would have to accept a total loss of his previous status in ministry. Yes we have seen TV charlatans bounce around and declare themselves restored. This is a good example why a church government is so important. Yes the often put down denominations usually have sound biblical ways to discipline a erring pastor.


#5 Should this man still be dating the woman he had an adulteress affair with?
Again, is the pastor guilty of adultery?
Did he repent and try to reconcile with his wife?
If after a long period of time and after repentance and his wife taking her right to biblically divorce him - THEN the
fallen man is free to pursue Godly relationships.
David did marry Bathsheba
though their union cost them much.

Know you are right in any accusations against anyone even a pastor.
Proceed with biblical conviction and love for the sinner and all envolved.
Trust a biblical church government to discipline a fallen pastor.
If a man follows biblical steps to restoration he may marry.
Beware of charlatans who declare themselves restored and do what is right in their own eyes.

11 Greatest University of Georgia Football Players 1940-2012


This post is motivated by a Bill King AJC Junkyard Blawg.

My 11 GREATEST GEORGIA BULLDOG FOOTBALL PLAYERS (updated)

Criteria is Georgia play and plus - in most cases their pro success.
Brief bio on the most well known players.
This is the real deal and not decided on by public relations junk or favorites. This is not who primped or PR'd the media. Just show me the facts and hardware.
Longer post on the lesser known Dawgs for today's younger fans.

#1 Herschel Walker - Tailback- 1980-1982 Jersey #34 retired
He was 18 years old. He signed with a 6 win and 5 loss team. He plays for them the next year. Now they are a 12 win ZERO loss team that are National Champs-because he played for them. On ESPN Bud Wilkinson called him the best football player in 1980, co-host Jim Simpson said "In America?", Bud said "No,The planet." Jersey retired. Dooley's hallmark years.

#1-A Charlie Trippi- RB- 1942, WW II service 1945, 1946 Jersey #62 retired
He is the only player in the Pro Football Hall of Fame with 1000 yards of receiving, 1000 yards passing, and 1000 yards rushing. Trippi attended the University of Georgia and was a two-time All-America selection. He played for Georgia in 1942 along side Heisman winner Frank Sinkwich. Georgia finished the season 11-1. He was named Most Valuable Player in the 1943 Rose Bowl in Georgia's 9-0 victory over UCLA. He won the Maxwell Award in the 1946 season. After his college career was interrupted by World War II.  He completed his career at Georgia by playing in 1945 and 1946. Jim Thorpe (The world's all time greatest athlete - my opinion backed up by hardware) called him the best football player he had ever seen. Bill Hartman called Trippi the greatest defender to play at Georgia as a defensive back.  He was my father's favorite and he led to my Dad's conversion away from some uniform color they let pass for gold and white.  Thanks Charlie, the Jackets got some butt ugly uniform colors.

#2 Frank Sinkwich - RB 1940,1941,1942 Jersey #21 retired

"UGA Highlights: Won Heisman Trophy in 1942, the first Southern player to win the award. Consensus All-American in 1941 and '42. Rushed for 2,271 yards and passed for 2,331 yards during his career, scoring 60 touchdowns - 30 rushing and 30 passing. Named Most Valuable Player of Orange Bowl on Jan. 1, 1942, after leading Georgia to a 40-26 win over TCU with 139 yards rushing, 243 yards passing and three touchdowns. Scored the only touchdown in Georgia's 9-0 Rose Bowl win over UCLA in his final college game, despite playing on two sprained ankles. As a junior, set SEC rushing record of 1,103 yards which stood for eight years and is still the seventh-best season total in UGA history. As a senior, set SEC passing record of 1,392 yards, which also held up for eight years. Still holds UGA record for touchdown responsibility in a season, with 27 in 1942. Original member of UGA Circle of Honor in 1996. Was the first Bulldog to have his jersey retired; his No. 21 was honored in 1943."

#3 Francis Tarkenton-  QB, 1958,1959,1960 Jersey #10
The DAWGS had a bad decade in their 1950's football fortunes. They went 10-1 and won the 1959 SEC title because he played for them. He always won-Athens High,UGA.  Plus he had  many Super Bowl trips pushing inferior teams of his to the max with the Minnesota Vikings who came up short despite his efforts.
Great Pro. Retired with all the major NFL passing records and as the leading all time passer, which is often forgotten. The "Scrambler" is underrated still. Some folks at UGA seem to resent him, maybe it's a personality thing. WINNER-Documented!

#4 Jake Scott - Safety, 1967,1968 Jersey #13
Big plays, interceptions punt returns for touchdowns and "swagger".  Plus he allegedly drove his motorcycle over the basketball coliseum riding up and down the swooping arches that lead to it's roof.
He was the #13 Miami Dolphin who won Super Bowls (Taste it Marino). He motivated by performance and a personality that made James Dean look like a conformist.
Under-publicized due to he did not have to answer to reporters, or Dooley or Shula with the Dolphins. He let his greatness talk for him.
1968 SEC player of the year at Safety. Super Bowl VII MVP. Six years with the Miami Dolphins and three Super bowl appearances. The Fish should have a statue of this #13 at their stadium.

#5 Bill Stanfill - Defensive Tackle, 1966,1967,1968 Jersey #77
Won all the lineman awards in major college football. SEC titles in 1966 and 1968.  Three time All-American.
Altered the game plan for the other team. Dolphins All-PRO. Two time Super Bowl Champ. Long time holder of the Dolphin sack record. Still underrated. Not even close to who ever you think the number 2 next best DL is for UGA or in the SEC in the 1960's.

#6 Terry Hoage - Rover, 1980, 1981,1982,1983 Jersey #14
Blocked a field goal in the 1981 Sugar bowl as a little used freshmen.
He led the team in tackles and nation in interceptions in 1982. Long time pro.
He was a DB back when you got attention by performance. He was not a 5 star recruit. He was a no star recruit.  Coach Dooley always bemoaned his lack of athletic ability.  Hogwash.  Tall-a leaper-strenth-plus enough speed to play a long time in the NFL.  Sacks, leading the nation in interceptions, blocked kicks. What else do you want?


#7 Champ Bailey - DB/WR 1996,1997,1998 Jersey #4
Head Football Coach Jim Donnan got the most out of Champ. From Chicago Tribune, July 25, 1999 "Bailey was regarded as one of college football’s greatest multiple threats (offense, defense and special teams) in his three seasons at the University of Georgia. During his final year at Georgia as a junior, he registered 52 tackles (four for losses), three interceptions, seven passes defensed, 47 catches for 744 yards (15.8 avg.), five touchdowns, 84 yards rushing on 16 carries, 12 kickoff returns for 261 yards and four punt returns for 49 yards. He averaged 103.5 all-purpose yards per game and logged 957 plays (547 defense, 301 offense and 109 special teams) on the way to earning consensus All-America and first-team All-Southeastern Conference honors and claiming the Bronko Nagurski Trophy as the nation’s top defensive player following his junior season. Against Virginia in the Peach Bowl, he caught three passes for 73 yards, including a 14-yard touchdown, rushed three times for nine yards, returned five kickoffs for 104 yards, returned a punt 12 yards, and posted two tackles and one pass defended at cornerback. In three years at Georgia, he played 33 games (24 starts) and recorded 147 total tackles, two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble, eight interceptions and 27 passes defended. He was an All-SEC first-team selection as a sophomore, starting every game at left cornerback and one game at wide receiver. Bailey set a school indoor long jump record in 1998 of 25-10 3/4 feet to finish third at the SEC Indoor Track and Field Championships."
Champ crushed Michigan DB Rod Woodson in performance.  Woodson won the Heisman.
1999 NFL Draft  -  Bailey was drafted in the first round (seventh overall) of the 1999 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins. He is playing still for the Denver Broncos as an every year all pro.

#8 Len Hauss - Center 1961,1962,1963 Jersey #56
He is the lone player from the era of head coach Johnny Griffith. From his Georgia Sports Hall of Fame Entry -   "Hauss attended Jesup High School, where he played high school football as a fullback. As a senior, he rushed for 1,500 yards and scored 15 touchdowns. At the University of Georgia, where he became a center. He received All-Southeastern Conference honors as a sophomore.
Professional career- Hauss was drafted in the ninth round (115th overall) of the 1964 NFL Draft. He started his first game at center four games into the 1964 season, a job he would not lose until retirement. Hauss helped lead the Redskins to the Super Bowl VII in 1972. He started 192 consecutive games for the Redskins between 1964 and 1977. He was named to the Pro Bowl each year between 1967 and 1972."

#9 David Pollack - Defensive End,  2001,2002,2003,2004 Jersey #47

"David Pollack attended Shiloh High School in Snellville, Georgia, and was a star in football, basketball and wrestling. In football, as a senior, he was a Class 5A All-State selection and the Atlanta Touchdown Club named him the Defensive Lineman of the Year.
College career
Pollack played with the University of Georgia and was a roommate of NFL quarterback David Greene.
He was a the second 3-time All-American. (2002, 2003, 2004) In addition to his All-American honors, Pollack received the:
2002 Southeastern Conference Player of the Year Award,
2004 Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Year Award,
2004 Chuck Bednarik Award: given annually to the top collegiate defensive player,
2003 and 2004 Ted Hendricks Award: given annually to the top collegiate defensive end,
2004 Lombardi Award: given annually to the top defensive or offensive collegiate lineman who, in addition to outstanding performance and ability, best exemplifies the discipline of Vince Lombardi, and
2004 Lott Trophy: given annually to a defensive player exemplifying integrity, maturity, performance, academics, community, and tenacity.
His signature play came during the second game of the 2002 season. Pollack batted down a pass from South Carolina quarterback Corey Jenkins in the South Carolina end zone and managed to catch the ball in the end zone before it hit the ground; Pollack was credited with a 0-yard interception return for a touchdown. Pollack ended his college career with 36 sacks, a University of Georgia all-time record."
He is the Dawg of the 2000's.  His G.A.T.A. (Get After Them Aggressivenely is what you told your Mom it meant)  that he supplied was sorely missing from the Dawgs attitude after he left.  he was the Cincinnati Bengals #1 pick.  A broken neck stopped his pro career.

#10 Mike "Moonpie" Wilson Jersey - Offensive Tackle,  #77
"Moonpie" was unheralded when he signed with UGA from Johnson High School in Gainesville.  He played right tackle on the 1976 Champs as they were a running team.  as a sophomore he started on defense. After moving to offense he still played on the goal-line defense. Consensus All-American. Played in Canada one year. Played till he got tired of it in the NFL. He was in the NFL fourteen years for the Cincinnati Bengals and Seattle Seahawks. UNDERRATED. The best OL in UGA history. Signed with Canadian league and played one year with Dawg teammate "Cowboy" Joel Parrish before he went with the Bengals.  (A friend said this was a PC pick since Wilson was from Hall County.  Not so.  He was an All-American on a SEC Champion that was a running team that went behind him when they needed to.  The Pros still wanted him but after a long pro career he went on to other things.)

#11 George Poschner - End 1940,1941,1942 Jersey #41
Because he is tougher than any Rambo movie, or any body you might have put at #11 from anywhere.
Here is a long entry on a little known story about the toughest Bulldog ever.
From the George Poschner entry in the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame -
"Poschner was born in Youngstown, Ohio, and came to the University of Georgia as a result of the efforts of his good friend, Frank Sinkwich. When Sinkwich was recruited by Georgia, he accepted the scholarship on the condition that Poschner would be granted a scholarship as well. Poschner earned All-America honors in 1942, and was selected in the eighth round of the 1943 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions.[4] The most celebrated event in Poschner's collegiate career came when he caught two fourth-quarter passes from Sinkwich in a 21-10 win over Alabama in 1942.
Military service
Poschner served in the United States Army in World War II, where he received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Distinguished Service Cross. On January 8, 1945, Poschner participated as a lieutenant in the Battle of the Bulge. While advancing into enemy territory, he was severely injured by machine-gun fire and did not receive medical treatment until two days later [He was laying in the bloody snow unattended]. Poschner lost both legs and several fingers as a result of his injuries. A New York Times report on Poschner's injuries observed, "His brilliant pass receiving added much to the reputation of All-America Frank Sinkwich, also of Youngstown, as a forward passer". The news report added that "Poschner's mother advised Coach Wally Butts of her son's case".
Legacy
Poschner was admired as much for his military valor and buoyant optimism as he was for his impressive achievements on the gridiron. In 1982, his former teammate, Frank Sinkwich, lauded him at a testimonial dinner held at Youngstown's Croatian Home. "Knowing George has made me stronger all my life", Sinkwich said.
In his letter nominating Poschner to the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame, Sinkwich wrote: "In my opinion, George Poschner is perhaps the greatest competitor of all time, both on and off the field. I have never known anyone with more courage on the football or the battlefield". Poschner was inducted into the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame in 1982, and the Orange Bowl Hall of Honor in 1985.

11-A Hines Ward - Wide Receiver - 1994,1995,1996,1997 Jersey #19

 Retired Feb 1, 2012:     As a wide receiver for the University of Georgia Bulldogs (1994–1997), Ward's 149 career receptions for 1,965 yards placed him second in team history. He also played tailback and totaled 3,870 all-purpose yards, second only to Herschel Walker in Bulldogs history. In 1996, Hines had 52 receptions for 900 yards, and also ran 26 times for 170 yards. In 1997, Hines hauled in 55 passes and scored six TDs, getting All-SEC honors in the process. Ward played some quarterback his sophomore year, and holds Georgia bowl records for Pass Attempts, Pass Completions, and Passing Yards in the 1995 Peach Bowl in which he completed 31 of 59 passes for 413 yards.

Jesus Christ First Born of The Dead-and Satan, Illuminati and baphomet silliness

Two Questions Received

1. What does it mean, he is the beginning and the first born from the dead please explain ?
2. Is there a connection between freemason, illuminati, Satan baphomet?

My Answers:
Here are the two Bible verses that refer to Jesus Christ as "firstborn from the dead and "firstborn of the dead".
Colossians 1:18 ESV "And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent."
Revelation 1:5 ESV "and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth.To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood"


Jesus is preeminent over all creation. He is our "Alpha and Omega, the beginning and end." as stated in Revelation 21:16.
Jesus Christ, part of the Godhead or Trinity, fully equal with and God with the Father and Holy Spirit, has no beginning or end. He was "begotten" and born to the virgin Mary about 2,00 years ago. The Son, Father and Holy Spirit are all God but with separate and unique personalties. Jesus was fully subordinate to the Father as he died on the cross to take on the penalty of believer's sin though he was sinless. Jesus took the wrath of God on the cross intended for sinners, Sinners who believe are judged righteous before God by the life of Jesus. Jesus was resurrected three days later to prove His victory over death and the grave. He now sits at the right hand of the Father and will one day return to judge the living and dead of all of history. He will lead the physical resurrection of the dead at the end of time. Jesus resurrected Lazurus and others in the New Testament. Those people died. Elijah resurrected a boy to life in the Old Testament but that person died. Jesus with the full power of the Trinity was Resurrected. All who receive eternal life from Jesus will go to be with the Lord and one day have their body resurrected. There will also be a resurrection of unbelievers as they are judged and sent to the eternal lake of fire.

You need to hear the Word of the Lord, pray repent [turning from sin towards God], confess Jesus Christ is LORD and be saved.


To answer your second question you have to worry about and spend your valuable time on a lot of nonsense.

The connection between Satan, the Illuminati and Baphomet is stupidity.
Also, lies and intentional deception of history connect the three subjects.


Satan is real, a fallen angel, and brought sin into the world. He seeks to kill and destroy. He does not seek friends or kingdom builders for himself. Much nonsense and undue credit is given Satan.


Freemasonry is a men's fraternal secret society. Many Christians have been Mason's. Many Christians oppose Freemasonry. Mason's claim not to be a religion but a men's organization. They were once very prominent in this country in the past. They were a working man's club in America and once had some political clout. So, some politicians in history were Masons. They have lost almost all prestige and power today. Religious hating sci-fi books have helped rekindle an interest in Freemasons. They have rituals and a temple and book of worship equating all world religions as they are an international organization started in the 1600's. Most men should be too busy with family and faith to spend on this club. Yes it should be viewed in light of Christianity to see if it is truly compatible with the Christian faith. Many Christians are not supportive of participation in this organization that is really a men's club. It was a men's organization for service and fun. They invented a lot of mystical gibberish at their founding. Lots of spooky stuff about them can be seen on the History Channel. Dan Brown used them as part of his novel on the Da Vinci Code. This novel has caused a lot of confusion with it's fantasy.


The Illuminati is a mythical international organization that runs the world. The Illuminati supposedly runs the world secretly controlling all major events and even war. World leaders from all countries, even enemies, are supposed to be in it. They are supposed to be descendants form the Knight's Templar from Crusade days. the Freemasons are supposed to be somehow connected.

Baphomet is supposed to be a horned creature associated with the pentagram. Some feel it is a corruption of Mohamed or Mohammed. It [this false god] was supposedly worshiped by the Crusader's after they came back from the Crusades in the 1,200's. Muslims do not worship Mohammed so why would crusader's? Again-nonsense. None of these events are related historically. They are related by goof balls who believe conspiracy theories, comic books and graphic novels, and anti-Christian novels.


I feel dumber for even knowing anything about these subjects.
Do not waste time with these middle schoolish fairy tales.

Study the Word of God and know you are saved. Then share your faith in Jesus Christ the First Born of The Dead.

When Is It Time To Leave A Church?

Question Received:

Please help. I left my former church after fourteen years because the pastor began teaching false doctrine. And,after visiting numerous churches, I have found a Presbyterian church that has a powerful, spirit-filled women's bible study and preaching that is scriptural, except for these two issues: 1. This church has women deacons and ordained women elders who sometimes preach, in direct disobedience to ITim 2:12 2. Baptism is by sprinkling, not total immersion that is exemplified in Scripture. Their form of baptism may not be an issue, but I am having serious concerns about submitting to leadership which disobeys the scripture, regarding womens' roles in the church. Is this one point reason enough not to join this church and search for another one? I really hoped this would be the end of my seach for a new church. Thank you, Shirl

Here is a description of a highly commended church, the church in revelation, in the book of Revelation.
Revelation 3:8-13 ESV

"'I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. 9Behold, I will make those of the synagogue of Satan who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie—behold, I will make them come and bow down before your feet and they will learn that I have loved you. 10 Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth. 11I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown. 12 The one who conquers, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God. Never shall he go out of it, and I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down from my God out of heaven, and my own new name. 13 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'"

The church at Philadelphia was highly regarded and commended by Jesus Christ. They were of lower class and no political power but kept His Word and did not deny Him. Christ loved them because they did not lie but bore witness of Him. They had patience and endurance. They received the promise to be kept from the hour of trial and the promise of Heaven. They received from the LORD commendation, no criticism, yet instruction and a promise.

The church has a mission stated in the Great Commission.
Matthew 28:8-20 ESV
8And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

There will not be found a perfect church. A church can have the perfect goals Christ gave them only if they love Him first and foremost. He is the head of the church.

First of all you said the pastor of your former church taught false doctrine. Only you know it. Search your heart and make sure it was not your feelings being hurt or a cultural preference in worship. Were scriptural teachings on salvation, worship or evangelism violated? Was the Bible not regarded as the Word of God? Was false worship being practiced not sanctioned in Scripture? Only you know.

Every church is flawed. I believe most people join a church trusting their church will teach true Bible doctrine. Obviously all fail from small to a great degree. When the Bible is not regarded as truth and Jesus is not regarded as our only hope in Salvation I can tell you to flee.

In my experience with churches once churches adopt liberal stances concerning women in ministry they cannot balance that with an inerrant view of the Bible. Baptism is a big issue in a church and you have to decide about Infant or believer's baptism by immersion tells a lot of what is believed about salvation. Can we have differences with others and all still be Christians? Yes. Again no church is perfect.

In my personal observations of individual churches and denominations, once wrong doctrinal is adopted and leadership adopts the wrong position, theological and biblical problems are almost impossible to correct. If you stay these big problems you listed will not go away. Will you give in to these positions? Would compromising help you or that church? You do not need to be ugly about departing. You can be loving, but from Scripture, you can share your Biblical concerns.
Yes, your local church fellowship shapes you and you help shape it. If these violated biblical principles bother you, you need to find a church who you can follow and serve the Lord with out violating biblical principals.

Special Forces Tribute

Special Forces Tribute

They trained harder than any Olympic hero or NFL star.
They trained in weather situations no one would purposely tolerate.
They have taken more abuse than any parole officer, inner city teacher or jailer.
They make wages that would seem destitute on Wall Street.
They are estranged from there families more than any profession.
They have seen more human carnage than any EMT.
They continually hone multiple skills.
They have to kill so society has a chance at freedom.
They have to always keep it to themselves.

Today I worshiped how I wanted.
Fellowshipped with my family.
I took this for granted.

Local Church Membership

Question Received:
My huband and I have a Bible study twice a month. He does not attend church regularly is this wrong, should we continue?

My Answer:

It is great you and your husband are serious about God's Word in a regular Bible study. I feel you both have a responsibility to pursue the Lord.


Is this a substitute for a church?
Simple answer-NO!


Here are a vast number of reasons people are not in church in America- they are not Christians and desire not to become one, they are sick and or elderly and can not travel, they grew up not going, their family never went, they are divorced, they were hurt by a local church or somebody in the church, they used to go but found it meaningless, they are burned out of programs, they are living a sinful lifestyle and refuse to depart from it, they were disciplined and excommunicated from a local church. Also some in para church ministries like Young Life, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Campus Crusade for Christ are so busy they forsake fellowship with a local church.


The great evangelist Billy Graham traveled the world and had church membership tough he could rarely attend. As Graham has retired from public ministry and is elderly and in failing health and can not physically attend, he has membership in a local church. He sees the necessity and responsibility to do so. He appreciated the accountability, love, support and fellowship, discipline and community of the local church family.



What does the church do- Worship, Edification (Discipleship) with ministries and missions and Evangelism. That's what the church does. We are to do this things as redeemed people. We are accountable for our actions. We have accountability and responsibility. We have proper doctrine maintained and protected and have leadership and discipline in the church, when we are about church business. Just as a person that isolates themselves from society will have problems develop from isolation, the unattached Christian will develop problems and needs they can not fulfill as an individual.



Other reasons for not being a part of a local congregation could be location or not being near a church with doctrinal beliefs you accept. If that is the case I think it would not be hard to find a church or denomination to help you be a part of establishing a local fellowship in an unreached area in America or in many foreign countries.


The single reason you should go to church or rather why join a local congregation? Because you are a professing Christian. You know Christ died to pay for the penalty of your sins to appease the wrath of God that will be poured out one day on sinners. You know Christ was fully man and is fully God. If you have heard the gospel, repented or turned away from your sins, and received forgiveness of sins, peace with God and eternal life, why would you not be in church? Why would you miss true biblical worship with believers? Why would you not want to be edified (Being built up in the Lord with friends of the faith in education, ministries and missions)? Why would you not want to participate in evangelism to share humanities only hope in Jesus Christ with family,friends and people you know and people you will never meet by sharing with organized mission opportunities by giving?



Who is church for? Believers of course. we are trained there to minister to the unsaved. This is surprisingly controversial as today many churches seek to accommodated unbelievers by weakening biblical worship. The church builds us up to evangelize. How can the unconverted worship a God they do not know? We must maintain our standards of right biblical worship. Yes, invite unbelievers. They can come and see the wonder of true biblical worship. They can witness devotion and historic worship of singing, hearing the scripture, saying the scripture, hearing the prayers and praise, the spoken prophetic word, seeing the scripture modeled in Baptism and the Lord's Supper.



Here are some scriptures that should convince you to become a part of the fellowship of the local church.



Jesus believed in and participated in worship on the Sabbath. Any counter to this?
Luke 4:16 NASB "And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up; and as was His custom, He enteredthe synagogue on the Sabbath, and stood up to read."



The first generation of Christians, those who knew and saw Christ in His day, taught local church worship to be done now until His return.
Hebrews 10:25 NASB "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching."



You will suffer a s a "Lone Ranger" Christian out of local church fellowship. Respect that God established leaders who teach and maintain and share the true gospel and oversee the care of your soul.
Hebrews 13:7 "NASB Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith."



Historically their is a caring of souls and fellowship by Godly established church leaders. Organization and church discipline is a biblical standard.
Hebrews 13:17 NASB "Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch overyour souls as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable for you."



Their is an established way to deal with problems that will happen in church Problems happen because people make up the church. If we pattern our churches after the New Testament model conflict can be graciously yet firmly dealt with.
Matthew 15:17-18 NASB 15 "If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private ; if he listens to you, you have won your brother. 16 "But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that BY THE MOUTH OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES EVERY FACT MAY BE CONFIRMED. 17 "If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church ; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector."



If you are not a Christian I urge you to receive the Good News, the gospel, that Christ died to pay for your sins, repent, confess that Jesus Christ is LORD.
You will be a citizen of Heaven and part of the universal church.

If you are a Christian, yes, join a fellowship and be an active part of the local church.



You must know what a church believes. Ask for a statement of faith from any church you attend. This is the day of hip church names like The Torch, the Wind, The Breeze, The Bridge, The Oasis, The Springs, The Summit, The Filling Station, The Connection, The Way. Sometimes they sound like night clubs. It does not matter about clothes and tradition or music styles. Find a Bible believing church that believes in biblical worship, edification also known as discipleship who does ministries and missions and participates in evangelism.

Serve your King. Join in with the Kingdom work. Join a Bible believing Christian Church.



I still believe you will benefit from joining a local Southern Baptist Church.
Though no church is perfect I feel the intent and actions are on the right course. The theology is consistent and can straighten out small or major problems that can occur in a church. Here is a part of a concise statement of belief, from the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message, The Church Article VI with more biblical support. I support the autonomy of the local church to structure church government as they feel led under Scripture. I do feel it is essential and on biblical grounds to have a lead Pastor in charge of the local church, under the Headship of Christ, preaching and ministering and leading as chief servant leader with Deacons who are servant leaders who support the ministries of the church and to assist the pastor to multiply the churches work.
