QUESTION RECEIVED:
How does calling on the name
of the Lord save you?
And is it before you die that
you call on the name of the Lord to be saved?
Or is it when at the last day
that you call on the name of the lord and Jesus raises you up? Also if you do it
in prayer, do you have the eternal assurance that God will save you? To Call on
the name of the Lord will you be saved. Please answer...
MY ANSWER:
Q1.)How does calling on the
name of the Lord save you?
The Lord is Sovereign or
King. He does the saving.
Scripture answers your question
who the Lord is?
Isaiah 40:28-31
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord,
The Creator
of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary.
His
understanding is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the weak, And to those who
have no might He increases strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be
weary, And the young men shall utterly fall,
31 But those
who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount
up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and
not faint.
Q2 )Do you call on His name
before you die to be saved?
How does the Lord save you?
His Son’s name is Jesus. (Which
means Savior.)
His title is Christ. (The Anointed
One.)
God sent Him here to live a
perfect life-die as a substitute to pay for the sins of all who call on His
name and repent or turn from their sins.
Q3) When can you call on His
name?
When the Holy Spirit calls
you can call on His name.
So, you call when you are
drawn and not when you find it convenient or are already dead.
Nicodemus was told this in
John 3 by Jesus.
“5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I
say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the
kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is
born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be
born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it,
but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is
born of the Spirit.”
Q4) When did this calling on
the Lord’s will really save you?
From the beginning of time
the Lord decreed it. He guarantees it.
So, call on the name of the
Lord for salvation today!
