The religion of Jesus makes us complete.

The Bible fully endorses religion.

Dr. Lemke has been one of our long time players with Fletcher's Football Pick'em.  He has been a yearly winner in the past.  He is always dangerous and in contention to win it. He has a passion to serve the Lord.

1)When did you first get passionate about football?

Well, I'm from the South, so I don't ever remember not being passionate about football. I started attending Louisiana Tech football games when I was five, and missed few games through the years. Before that, I was going to some high school games. 

2) Who was your first favorite player and or team?

Louisiana Tech was my favorite team, though I cheered for most of the Texas teams (Texas, Texas A&M, Baylor, SMU, TCU, Texas Tech, etc.). Some of my early favorite players were Tech QB Mickey Slaughter (who played for the Broncos in the pros), Billy Cannon of LSU, John David Crow of Texas A&M, and Bert Jones of Ruston High School (who lived down the street from me), LSU, and the Colts.

3) What is one or some of your favorite football memories?

There are many, but in the old days Louisiana Tech played a grudge match every year at the Louisiana state fair against Northwestern State. We usually beat them, but in 1968 we were behind 39-35 to NSU. But with 25 seconds left on the scoreboard, Terry Bradshaw dropped back from his 18 yard line and fired a pass to Ken Liberto on the Northwestern 40 yard line. Liberto, who caught the pass on the run, split three NSU defenders and streaked into the end zone for the TD. Tech won again, 42-39.

4)  Can you name one favorite football event that says "That's why I care about football"?

I can't remember a specific event, but what I like most is when an underdog mid-major defeats a big school, or my team makes a great comeback.

5)  What is a Bible verse you refer to daily? Why?

John 3:16, Isa. 26:3-4, Mark 9:34

John 3:16 gives us the assurance of salvation.

Isa. 26:3-4 assures us of God's providential care.

Mark 9:34 helps me know God helps in the midst of my fallibility.

 

6)  Who is your team?

Louisiana Tech, Dallas Cowboys (in Babylonian exile), TCU (son is there)

7) Who wins it all in college football, the SEC and gets the Heisman?

Alabama, Alabama, and NOT Manziel (McCarron)

Kevin "Chappy" Hynes - The 7

Kevin “Chappy” Hynes is the strong gospel preaching chaplain of the Georgia Bulldogs.

He has served as a United States Marine, a law enforcement officer and now Jesus Christ.

He serves as the team chaplain of the Georgia Bulldogs coming to Athens with coach Richt.

We love his strong dependence on the gospel of salvation.

“Chappy” gets us kicked off in this game week as the Dawgs head to Clemson this Saturday.

1)When did you first get passionate about football?

 KH- “ I got passionate about football in 1983.  While serving in the United States Marine Corps, I met a Marine from Tulsa Ok who became my best friend.  He was a Sooner Fan and turned me on to college football.”

2) Who was your first favorite player and or team.

  KH- “Favorite player…Any player on our team.”

3) What is one or some of your favorite football memories?

    “Favorite Football memory…Greene to Haynes…2001 UGA vs TN”

(Editor-Dawgs call it the “hobnail” game as the late great Larry Munson called this great play that crushed Tennessee in 2001.)

4)  Can you name one favorite football event that says "That's why I care about football"?

KH- “Why I care…Fri night Devo’s, Pre-Game Chapels, Weekly Bible Studies and Because Football is a tough team sport.”

KH-  1 John 1:9  Because the Christian life is about a relationship, it’s not about being perfect, it’s about confession, repentance, trust and faith.

Why God Am I Struggling With Finances - And Bad Guys Have A New Lexus?

QUETION RECEIVED:

 I know that God doesn't owe me a rich life. When I look at this world, I see ungodly people having it all, in terms of wealth, health and success. But godly people have nothing, they lack everything in this world. 

Isn't God a provider? When I pray isn't God moved to make my life better in terms of success-wealth, health and a good life? 

God gave Solomon riches, can't He provide for us?

 Honestly speaking, we need money to earn a living in this world, buy food, clothes, tithe to our local churches, give some to the poor and the sick. For instance, if I was a billionaire, I'd share my wealth with the less fortunate and give some to God(Kingdom purposes). Is it a must that we must be poor? events and opportunities that happen in our lives, are they meant to be or do we choose how our lives unfolds? I'm thinking of predestination concepts. Why did God send a evil spirit to torment king Saul? What was the purpose behind it? Is it wrong to pray for wealth and health?

MY ANSWER:

Brother you sound frustrated.

I am not here to give you false un-grounded hope.

Is your satisfaction in Christ?

Has He provided for you?

Salvation and eternity with the Father and pardon for sins are what no one can do for you but Christ.

See if the ungodly are satisfied.  Perhaps for a short time they seem satisfied.

Mark 12:41-45

41 And He sat down opposite the treasury, and began observing how the people were putting money into the treasury; and many rich people were putting in large sums. 42 A poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which amount to a cent. 43 Calling His disciples to Him, He said to them, “Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the contributors to the treasury; 44 for they all put in out of their surplus, but she, out of her poverty, put in all she owned, all she had to live on.”

I do not know how Jesus blessed her but He cared for her and her gesture endured forever in Scripture.  The woman was not stopped from giving.

Solomon was the richest man ever recorded in the Bible and he wrote his regrets in the book of Lamentations.

Rich or poor God honors FAITH and it moves him.

Be careful where you put your faith.

Does the fullness of God dwell in us when we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior?

MY ANSWER:

Jesus told the disciples to receive the Holy Spirit in John 20.  At Pentecost Jews from all over the world received the Holy Spirit.

We are saved and declared righteous before God.

We start in holiness when we are saved.  We can grow in holiness and are expected to when saved.

Just as the people in the Old Testament feared seeing the living God or his holiness would overwhelm them.  Moses had to be shielded and could only see the train of God’s glory in Exodus 3.

Ephesians 3:19 (NASB95)

19and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.

Jesus had all and acted in all.   We don’t but we are set toward and grow in holiness..

Colossians 2:9

9 For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form,

Just like a child is expected to develop after birth so is a Christian expected to develop after the new birth.

God is fullness and complete and is all and more than we can ever need.

As wise preacher said we are cracked pots and need to be refilled.
When we worship individually and corporately I believe this is when it happens.
