Do All Roads Lead To Heaven? Not According To Jesus

The following question is from GotQuestions.org .

QUESTION RECEIVED:

Could you fill in the blanks for me? Taoism isn’t true because? Buddhism isn’t true because? Hinduism isn’t true because? Christianity is true because?

MY ANSWER:Christianity Is and clearly claims the only way for peace with God , forgiveness of sins, eternal life in Heaven.

From the words of Jesus Christ who is God in the flesh.
John 14:6 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
"6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me."

Hinduism is a multi-theistic religion (many gods).
They have many gods and multitude of "devas" viewed as "avatars" of the ultimate being god of worship is "Brahaman". ( *Devas and Brahaman have varying spellings.)
Jesus is happily added to the pile of gods
"No" says our God.
They are cool with one more god.
They blissfully add Jesus to the list.
God is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
God shares His glory and praise for salvation with no one- not even a well thought out fake god.

Deuteronomy 4:24 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
"24 For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God."

Buddhism is a philosophy though many Buddhist have corrupted the teaching of the Buddha and worship him as a deity, which he did not claim.
Taoism is also a philosophy.
Philosophies can not forgive you of your sins, grant peace with God and give you eternity in Heaven only Christ Can.

Jesus said about His relationship with God -
John 10:30 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
30 "I and the Father are one.”
Jesus claimed to be God in the flesh and the only way to the Father.
By the Holy Spirit we are convinced of our sins.
We know Jesus took the sins of believers on the cross and paid the penalty of sin to the Father.
When we repent we receive forgiveness of sins and peace with God and become citizens of heaven.

Do not get bogged down going tit for tat with false teaching.
You will go no where.
Do this with those you lovingly witness to in false religions-

1. What does your belief do with forgiveness of sin?
2. Why or how can you obtain Heaven by good works as we all sin?
3. Do you have assurance of forgiveness of sins and Heaven?
4. Share the gospel.

Be assured of salvation alone through Jesus Christ.

Jesus was sure-
Luke 19:10 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
"10 For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

Question - What happens when that odd ball gay or straight or democrat or republican or atheist or druggie or known pedophile shows up atYOUR church? Really what happens?

QUESTION RECEIVED:
My cousin said she saw a gay man at church who was carrying a purse and wearing a pearl necklace.
I venture to say this shocked the church members.
Should the church have said anything to him or just ignored the situation?

MY ANSWER:
Yes ushers and church folk who met the visitor should have greeted the man .
Why?
You as the church, The Body Of Christ, claim to speak for God .
You as  the church are, or should be, continually showing praise to God for saving such an unworthy subject of salvation - yourself.

Should members have ignored the man?
Not according to Scripture.

Hebrews 13:2 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
“2 Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.”

If church members ignored the man they might have missed a blessing.
By ignoring the man members sinned by omission of hospitality expected by our apostolic witness of Scripture and the golden rule of Christ.

1 Peter 4:8-18
“Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a
multitude of sins. 9  Be hospitable to one another without complaint. 10  As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11  Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”

We are a part of a sinful generation.
We do not need to greet greet people as representatives of governmental politcs, race, sexual orientation, special perversion or as any other subclass.
We meet people not subgroups.
How about just a sincere welcome to worship?
What should we do when we meet someone?
We lift up Jesus.
John 3:13-15 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
“13  No one has ascended into heaven, but He who descended from heaven: the Son of Man. 14 As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; 15 so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life.”
(For Gainesville folks this is Mr. Beckstein's philosophy of ministry at Good News at Noon.)

Like us, all people we meet  are sinners that were made in the image of God.
God went to extraordinary links to save their souls.
Christ died to pay the sin debt to His Father of all who repent and believe.
Like us these sinners do not deserve forgiveness of sins, peace with God and citizenship in Heaven.
That does not make human sense.
That’s grace.
That is why we worship our Savior.

The Lord was patient with us.
He acted for us when we were in our rebellion.
Romans 5:8
“8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

This person should have been warmly greeted.
This person should have seen grace through the spiritual gifts the people of the church who are sinners now redeemed by the Savior put on display.
The worship service should have oozed with the praying, singing, saying, reading, preaching, hearing and seeing the gospel in communion and baptism.
I hope this happened and will in my church.

Trust the justification and sanctification to Jesus Christ.
He and His Word will change people.
We need to be a faithful witness.
Christians need to always be prepared to display grace.

Question Answered On Bible Study and Trusted Internet Sources

QUESTION RECEIVED:

Hi,
I have just finished reading my Bible, and I am so happy with it.
My question is, what now? Read it all over again? What about free online Bible course?

Do you happen to know some good free, online Bible course? Maybe something that focuses on Apologetics (Defending the Faith) since that is an area I absolutely love in Christianity.

___________________________________________________________________________

MY ANSWER:

Yes keep reading the Bible.
Why?
2 Timothy 3:16-17 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
“16  All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.”

Dr. Tony Evans said something to the effect that the Bible is inviting for beginners to jump in and said experienced swimmers will never touch bottom.
The old puritan ministers said a minister should read a book of the Bible every day.
You need a systematic approach of study.
I think you would do well to focus on the gospels first.
Read John first which is the theology of Jesus.
Next read Acts through Revelation.
You need to read the Old Testament and understand the Bible timeline.
The whole Bible is God’s plan for salvation.
I find it good to use Psalms and Proverbs as daily short devotionals.
You need a systematic and consistent form of study.
Again I ask Why?

You need Bible study to hear from God, and to learn wisdom and instruction for evangelism and to further in sanctification or becoming like Jesus.
There is nothing like hearing the word of God.  There will be times we are not feel so close to God and do not want to read.  At that time the Bible is still the Word of God.
This is why you need to develop a reading plan.  Your need for divine fellowship and further sanctification is greater than your feelings.

Should you use free online Study courses?
Do not search on Google and randomly jump into one.
Many cults sound legit and draw you in to weird unorthodox teaching.
Example: Heretical groups like Shepard’s Chapel and other groups who distort the gospel in teaching unbiblical doctrine.

For Apologetics I recommend  http://carm.org/ to help you study the opposition of the gospel.
I would recommend  Way of the Master for evangelism

Here is a link for Got Questions sites they recommend. http://www.gotquestions.org/links.html

I would also recommend checking on the free online Matthew Henry Commentary.
It is wise to read the commentary of learned people.
Yes it is the view of people.  But with the complex thinking of the reading of the text it is wise to read what solid teachers have said when wrestling with the same biblical issues.
This can help you from going down the road of  false or bad interpretation.

I would also check with my pastor and Sunday School teacher to trust the validity of any free unknown site.

Is America About To Snap? Is There an Answer?

QUESTION:  Do you think things are getting worse in the world and America?

MY ANSWER:  Yes and I will give biblical support that the world and the U.S.A. is getting more evil.

Horrors have always happened in the world.  The horrors get closer and closer to home.  The Holocaust was in Germany.  The “Killing Fields were in were in Cambodia.  Many evil regimes in Africa have gone unpublicized compared to Stalin in Russia and Chairman Mao Zedong and the extermination of their own people.

But we feel that horrors are generally far away.   But we had 9-11.  Natural catastrophes are standard news items now in our country.  We do not seem to care as a society about life if ours is intact.  Abortion legally is most often protected for society’s obsession for convenience and is blind to the view that innocent life is taken.
Unemployment is at a rate not anticipated to ever happen.
Political talk is too soon turned explosive today.
Shootings and bombings on campus, places of worship and even military bases used to be stuff of movies but is now a part of our daily reality.
Public discussion over the policies of a fast food restaurant have brought people to near hysteria concerning their viewpoints on how the owner gives legally his money to causes.
The country is about to snap.
I am not usually an alarmist or one who shares the latest conspiracy theory.
Look at our country.
We are about to snap.
Why?

Scripture talks about the end days and how their will be an increase in evil.
As evil as the world has been there has been heavenly restraint.
The Holy Spirit has restricted the evil in men from being as sinful as they could be.
The Bible tells us the Restrainer or Holy Spirit will one day withdraw restraint.
Restraint is lessening in our country and world today.

The sin of mankind is evident.
The teaching of original sin by the church is that we are all sinners.
Original sin does not say we sin all we could.  We are sinners who by conscience or outside restraint have a limit of our sin.
There will be a day were sinful men will sin all they can without restraint.
This might not be the time as Jesus Christ said no one knows when His return will be.
We are told though we do not know the time but that we can know the season of His return.

2 Thessalonians 2:6-7  (NASB)  6   “And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed.  7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way.”

It is well known that no one knows the time of full tribulation and the return of Christ.
Matthew 24:36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.”

What About ‘The Sign’  Before The Tribulation And Return of Christ?

Matthew 24:3   3 As He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” 4 And Jesus answered and said to them, “ See to it that no one misleads you”
Read Matthew 24 to see the pre-tribulation signs Jesus foretold of the lack of restraint of sin and His return.

If this is pre-tribulation then how horrible will it be when restraint is removed and full tribulation is here?

Things are and will get worse as the Bible has recorded.
There is great and good news.
Believers know the Good News.
Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay our sin debt to a Holy god his father.
Those who repent of their sins and turn to Jesus Christ receive salvation, eternal life in Heaven and peace with God.
You will “flee the wrath to come” as John the Baptist preached in Matthew 3:7.

My question to Christians is – Are you answering the call to evangelize your lost family, friends, strangers and anyone you meet?
Christ is our only hope.  There is not another.

Angels-Flying Babies or Supernatural Bad Dudes?

Angels are Bad Supernatural Dudes Not Flying Babies

What angels are not-
Angels are not cute babies like on the package of Angel Soft toilet paper wrapper.
I saw an old ad for Angel Hair toilet paper.  I do not think angels would want their hair used for our modern use of toilet paper.
Angels are not uncle Bubba or aunt Claudine who died and now have wings in Heaven.
Angels are a separate order of creation.
Angels are supernatural bad dudes

Angels existence and function are told by the testimony of Christ-

Angels are listed in the Old and New Testament and many historic  ancient Hebrew texts.
Jesus Christ new and taught of their existence in Matthew 18:10 “See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven continually see the face of My Father who is in heaven.", and Matthew 26:53 “ Or do you think that I cannot appeal to My Father, and He will at once put at My disposal more than twelve legions of angels?” So angels are reporters to God and protectors when asked by Him.
In the story of the rich man and Lazarus, Jesus says angels escorted Lazarus from Earth to Abraham’s bosom (Heaven).
Luke 16: 22 “Now the poor man died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s bosom; and the rich man also died and was buried.”

Even the Son of God received ministry from angels-
In Matthew 4 it records angels ministered to Jesus.  Matthew 4:11 “Then the devil left Him; and behold, angels came and began to minister to Him.”

                                   What or who are angels?

They were created before Creation time according to Job 38:6-7.
They had eternal existence after their creation.

There are “elect angels”.  These are God’s angels who remained loyal to the Father.
1 Timothy 5:21 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
21  "I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus and of His chosen angels, to maintain these principles without bias, doing nothing in a spirit of partiality."

There are reprobate (doomed for eternity) angels who followed Satan in the fall and cannot receive redemption as they once were before the face of God but chose their doom in following Lucifer.
Revelation 12:4 “And his tail swept away a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth.  And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child.”

The fallen angels will be cast into eternal punishment.

Matthew 25:41
41   “Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels;”

There are two orders of heavenly angels-

Cherubim angels guard and protect the holiness of God.

Genesis 3:24 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
24 “So He drove the man out; and at the east of the garden of Eden He stationed the cherubim and the flaming sword which turned every direction to guard the way to the tree of life.”
The description of cheribum angels were depicted in the statues of the two angels watching the mercy seat as part of  the Ark of The Covenant which held the stone tablets of the Ten commandments.
Exodus 25:20 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
20  “The cherubim shall have their wings spread upward, covering the mercy seat with their wings and facing one another; the faces of the cherubim are to be turned toward the mercy seat.”

Here is a description of actual cherubim and their physical movements.  Again these are bad dude supernatural creatures, not silly babies with wings on a cloud.
Ezekiel 10:15 “Then the cherubim rose up. They are the living beings that I saw by the river Chebar. 16  Now when the cherubim moved, the wheels would go beside them; also when the cherubim lifted up their wings to rise from the ground, the wheels would not turn from beside them. 17 When the cherubim stood still, the wheels would stand still; and when they rose up, the wheels would rise with them, for the spirit of the living beings was in them.”

Seraphim angels have to do with the worship of God before His throne.
They are described as having six wings.

Isaiah 6:1-8 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
Isaiah’s Vision6 In the year of King Uzziah’s death I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple. 2 Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one called out to another and said“ Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of hosts, The whole earth is full of His glory.”4 And the foundations of the thresholds trembled at the voice of him who called out, while the temple was filling with smoke. 5 Then I said,“ Woe is me, for I am ruined.  Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I live among a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.” 6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal in his hand, which he had taken from the altar with tongs. 7 He touched my mouth with it and said, “Behold, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away and your sin is forgiven.”

Angels have an order in a military type of ranking.
They are bad dudes not babies with wings on clouds.
They are not effeminate creatures.
They appear as fire, and other supernatural descriptions capable able of great warfare.

Revelation 12:7 says "And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels waged war," Yes the good angels won.

In 2 Kings 19:35 "Then it happened that night that the angel of the Lord went out and struck 185,000 in the camp of the Assyrians; and when men rose early in the morning, behold, all of them were dead."
That is right. One angel in one night dusted 185,000 of the enemies of God's people.

At the birth of Christ when the Heavenly Host of angels came to the shepherds on the hill this is what was said Luke 2:10 "But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people;" They angels were not there only to spread the message. The shepherds had to be comforted and calmed down to hear the good news in their realistic fear.

The shepherds had every reason to be "sore afraid". These warrior angels were life takers. Don't you know that Yaweh Himself had the greatest security detail ever sent as His Son, The Lord of Glory, The King of Kings, the Author Of Our Salvation was entering in to the world, birthed and incarnated to reclaim His world and implement salvation over the power of sin? All the powers of evil clamored for the death of this child.

So please stop thinking about flying babies, effeminate harp players when

you think of angels.

The Bible warrior angel is the kind I want my King to send in our distress and when loved ones and myself are in harms way.

Thank you Lord in your providence for the ministry of angels.

How Does A Pastor Get Paid? BY THE CHURCH! - the ravens stopped bringing ministers food after Elijah's day

QUESTION RECEIVED:
How does a pastor get paid?

MY ANSWER:
The pastor gets paid by the congregation.
No subject generates as much concern and sometimes anger and ill will than the subject of church and money.
Many have harsh preconceptions that a pastor should not be paid (unbiblical as that is),
and the church should not require members to tithe or give financially.
This is often due to a small number of “superstar ministers” who abuse congregations and ministry financial supporter’s finances with lavish lifestyles.  The ministry abusers are sinning against God.   The majority of pastors barely make ends meet.

Giving gifts of tithes and offerings are commanded in the Old Testament and talk of as being a regulative part of worship in the New Testament.

1 Corinthians 16:1-2 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
“16 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I directed the churches of Galatia, so do you also. 2 On the first day of every week each one of you is to put aside and save, as he may prosper, so that no collections be made when I come.”

Paul in the Scripture below states the standard New Testament verse about paying pastors.

1 Corinthians 9:9-10 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
"9 For it is written in the Law of Moses, “ You shall not muzzle the ox while he is threshing.” God is not concerned about oxen, is He? 10 Or is He speaking altogether for our sake? Yes, for our sake it was written, because the plowman ought to plow in hope, and the thresher to thresh in hope of sharing the crops."

Paul writes in 1 Timothy to pay the pastor well.

1 Timothy 5:17 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
"17  The elders who rule well are to be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching".

Paul took a salary.  He did not take money from struggling churches.
Here he overstates that he “robbed”, or took money from a congregation out of Corinth, so he could minister to the new spiritually weak church at Corinth.  Congregations should be selfless and support all gospel ministry they are able to share with.

2 Corinthians 11:8-11
“8 I robbed other churches by taking wages from them to serve you; 9 and when I was present with you and was in need, I was not a burden to anyone; for when the brethren came from Macedonia they fully supplied my need, and in everything I kept myself from being a burden to you, and will continue to do so. 10  As the truth of Christ is in me, this boasting of mine will not be stopped in the regions of Achaia. 11 Why? Because I do not love you? God knows I do!”

In summary-
The church pays the preacher.
It is a myth Paul never was financially supported.
At times Paul was bi-vocational as he continued to minister to areas who had no congregation to support him in new unreached areas..
No pastor has a biblical command to not take a salary.
Pay your preacher welll.
He has a family usually that needs food, shelter, transportation, insurance, vacation. Educational and retirement needs.
The pastor has financial needs and needs to be paid – just like you and the rest of the congregation.
Pay that preacher!

Online Church Membership? TOVIM (taste of vomit in mouth)

QUESTION RECEIVED:
Is it OK to attend an online church vs. a local church?
[Profile- A young adult female in the U.S.A]

MY ANSWER:
Surprisingly to me I have been asked this question before.
The answer is NO it is not OK to substitute church attendance or membership for a computer screen if you can go worship and fellowship with believers.  Yes it is wrong if you substitute a  canned “rock star” preacher for fellowship of the church whom Jesus Christ calls His “body “.
And really, how can you call watching a computer screen attending?

Jesus went to public worship.  He did not lay in bed and ask people to take notes and come back and tell him about what was said.  He was and is a participant in worship.

Luke 4:16 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
“16 And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up; and as was His custom, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath, and stood up to read.”

We need other brothers and sisters to encourage, pray for us and to even correct our bad thinking.  We are a part of the body and are useful to each other.

1 John 1:7 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
“7 but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.”

Hebrews 10:24-25 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
“24 and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, 25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.”

So, two thousand years of worship WITH the saints forfeited for a computer screen?
Do I have to answer that?
You are worshiping with the fellowship, the body, fellow believers in the flesh, the angels the saints in Heaven, the Holy Spirit and Jesus Himself (He said he was our High priest) when the church gets together.
Says who?
The Bible!

Hebrews 12:1-2 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
“12 Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Are you an invalid or what was used to be called a shut in?  Online church might then be OK.
But… I do not believe you could live anywhere in America where a local church would not want you under pastoral care to minister to you.   You can watch preaching all day long on the computer, and that is OK, but it is not church fellowship.

Do not cheat yourself and others.  You have much to receive, and give, with a local in the flesh fellowship.

When you hear the gospel declared of the life, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ that tells us how the Savior paid the price to atone for our sins and take us to the Father one day, when this is declared and souls are saved and burdens lifted you will find - the computer monitor gives a weak high-five.
Sister, go and join a local body of believers and serve your King!

NO THIS CANNOT BE YOUR CHURCH!

Worst Youth Group Ever – It’s Documented

Worst Youth Group Ever – It’s Documented

Pastors have seen "Youth Groups" get out of control before.  On youth retreats kids smoke cigarettes and worse stuff.  Showers draw peeping Toms.   Kids “hook up” and have to be peeled off each other.
Bullying and taunting can lead to total disrespect for authority and can reach unbelievable levels.

One “Man of God” could not take it anymore.
On one trip the youth went over the line it seems.
Minister Elisha was traveling on a round trip from Samaria.
He had a problem with the group of boys whose number was reported as 42 lads.
Perhaps the same sex grouping ratcheted up the ill tension in the unruly fellows.

Documented below is how Minister Elisha reacted to the bad behavior and the account
of what happened to the disrespectful mob of adolescent males on a trip from Bethel to Mount Carmel.

2 Kings 2:23-25 New American Standard Version
“23 Then he went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up by the way, young lads came out from the city and mocked him and said to him, “Go up, you baldhead; go up, you baldhead!” 24 When he looked behind him and saw them, he cursed them in the name of the Lord. Then two female bears came out of the woods and tore up forty-two lads of their number. 25 He went from there to Mount Carmel, and from there he returned to Samaria.”

Word to pastors – there’s hope

Old Covenant Replaced And Fulfilled By the New

QUESTION RECEIVED:

What does the below statement mean, please? Hebrews 8:13 When God speaks of a "new" covenant, it means he has made the first one obsolete. It is now out of date and will soon disappear. Hebrews 8:13

MY ANSWER:

New American Standard Bible (NASB)
13 When He said, “ A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. But whatever is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to disappear.

The book of Hebrews is awesome in that it shows the flow of the story of salvation in Old Testament from creation through the law and prophets to the finished work of Christ and the message of the Apostles as recorded in the New Testament. The New Testament finally completes  the “household“ of God which is the church.
Ephesians 2:19-21 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
“19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household, 20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, 21  in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord,”

The household of God was not complete until the atoning work of Christ on the cross and His resurrection.  Christ died for the sins of all who have and will repent of their sins.  Christ took and became sin on the cross.  Just like the old hymn says “Jesus Paid It All”.
Those who have repented and turn to Christ for salvation receive pardon for sin, peace with God and eternal life in Heaven.
Jesus Christ was resurrected, ascended to Heave after forty days.  Then the birth of the church occurred at Pentecost.  Now all are welcome into this house.
And now to further explain the new covenant.

What about the Old Covenant.  The old is simply summed up in this verse.
Jeremiah 31:33 (NASB)
“33 “But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares the Lord, “ I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”
The Lord revealed salvation by covenantal response through Adam, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and set the Law with Moses.  The Old Covenenat obedience was to follow the Lord and His commands.  This was done with a sacrificial system of slaughtered animals at the alter for temporary forgiveness that foreshadows the full forgiveness and redemption by Christ on the Christ.
The Old Covenant was really a simple command that was impossible to fully keep - follow the law.
The old Covenant screamed for satisfaction only the New Covenant of Jesus Christ can give.

A New Covenant As Stated In Hebrews 8

7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion sought for a second. 8 For finding fault with them, He says,

“ Behold, days are coming, says the Lord,
When I will effect a new covenant
With the house of Israel and with the house of Judah;
9  Not like the covenant which I made with their fathers
On the day when I took them by the hand
To lead them out of the land of Egypt;
For they did not continue in My covenant,
And I did not care for them, says the Lord.
10 “ For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel
After those days, says the Lord:
I will put My laws into their minds,
And I will write them on their hearts.
And I will be their God,
And they shall be My people.
11 “ And they shall not teach everyone his fellow citizen,
And everyone his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’
For all will know Me,
From the least to the greatest of them.
12 “ For I will be merciful to their iniquities,
And I will remember their sins no more.”
13 When He said, “ A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. But whatever is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to disappear.

The Old Covenant was not “faultless” as verse 8:7 says.
The new has come.
The New Covenant was sealed by the blood atonement of Jesus Christ.
Trust and believe in the perfect and final Covenant who is Jesus Christ.
