Is Lack Of Visable Success Of A Church Judgement From God?

QUESTION RECEIVED:

If a church decides to close their doors, does that mean that God is no longer living and active in their church

MY ANSWER:

No. God is always active in our lives and the lives of believers - and they are the church. We are not always faithful and not always and rarely immediately obliterated by our unfaithfulness. Can a church go liberal to the point that the gospel is distorted? Yes.
Will the church be underjudgement? Yes.
Can a local church of good people close a church? Yes. Why? Money to pay bills and a dwindling population of like minded believer's, or the church has served it's purpose are reasons a church could close.

I have heard of dramatic gut wrenching fights where the pastor writes Ichabod on the doorpost and leaves.
1 Samuel 4:21
New International Version (NIV)
"21 She named the boy Ichabod, saying, “The Glory has departed from Israel”—because of the capture of the ark of God and the deaths of her father-in-law
and her husband."

Again not all church closings are because of dramatic apostasy.
God is always active in our lives. It might be He is giving us over to our desires to learn. Good folks can close a church fo honorable reasons. In America we are usually using a building for church . Aging old folks might not can financaily keep the property up. There are several reasons a church could close. They are not all sinister.
Yet God always is dealing with us in the universal church.

Psalm 139:8
English Standard Version (ESV)
8 If I ascend to heaven, you are there!
If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!
