Choosing a Christian College or Seminary

QUESTION ASKED:

I'm interested in enrolling at Hillsdale Free Will Baptist Bible College in Moore Ok..I'm going to apply for their Masters in Ministry program. They are accredited bu Transnational Association of Christian Colleges & Schools. Is this a good accrediation for a college?

QUESTION RECEIVED:

TRACS is the minimal accreditation of most Christian colleges.
I would prefer a national or regional accreditation. In the southeastern United States it is SACS.
I do not know what it is in your area.
The accreditation needs to be viewed for several reasons.
1) Are students eligible for government loans?
2) Is the school reputable and and are credits transferable to other school?
3) Can you be certified in all states by it's schools of Education, Accountancy etc.?
4) Will other graduate schools in Theology, Law, Business, Medicine and Liberal Arts accept the school's graduates in their programs?

And you must ask why are you going to this school.
If it is for religious training- Do churches and ministries you would want to work for employ graduates from this school? Does this school match you Christian heritage, faith and perceived future? Would their training limit you to only Free Will Baptist ministries?
Free Will Baptist do not believe in "eternal security" or "once saved always saved".
Is that where your convictions are?
Pray to know what the Lord and you want and need. This education will cost financially even if you get scholarship help. You will spend much time and money in college. Again PRAY hard, ask mentors, and use discernment.

2 Timothy 2:15
English Standard Version (ESV)
15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
