World's # 1 Problem answered

What is the world's #1 problem?
Global warming? World famine? World economics? War?
No.
The answer is FOOD POISONING=Personal Sin.
Now please read the rest.
How can I tie in the "Worlds #1 Problem" with Easter?
Because on Resurrection Day or Easter often a beautiful well rehearsed church program, or gospel presentation does not connect our problem THE BAD NEWS [we are sinners heading for God's Wrath]with the gospel THE GOOD NEWS [Jesus took on God's wrath on the cross that was intended for us and connected us to the Father and gives us eternal life].
You can not get the Good News unless you understand the bad news.
This Easter was the first in 17 years I have not preached in a worship service.
I planned to attend three "worship" services during the Easter season. None of the services, including an Easter Sunday morning service, included preaching [No I am not making this up]. Yes, these were all three different conservative evangelical churches. Two were Baptist and one was from another denomination. Biblically I do not know if worship actually occurred if their was no Word of God proclaimed. I decided to skip one of the three services when I found out their would be nothing but instrumental music.
Heard a lot of singing praising the Lord at the services, and that is great.
I heard a lot of Jesus is love. Non Christians agree that Jesus seemed to be a loving person. Non Christians always talk well of Jesus until it is stated He said He is God and "King of Kings and Lord of Lords". If we do not declare that in church where will we be able to declare it? Non Christians can be loving and do nice to terrific things for other people. We need a solution for sin and that solution is a Savior.
I heard a lot Jesus died-that is sad-but he came back to life again which is good.
But why? Are we aligning the right question with the right answer?
Their is a lot of controversy about Rob Bell and the Love Wins book about how this minister figured it all out after 2,000 years and the church is really just about being loving. None of the services mentioned referenced or were directly influenced by this book that I know of. No connection was made on why the gruesome murder of Jesus Christ happened, and the horrifying scandalous thought that God the Father was pleased to "crush" his own son.

Isaiah 53:10
"But the Lord was pleased
To crush Him, putting Him to grief;
If He would render Himself as a guilt offering,
He will see His offspring,
He will prolong His days,
And the good pleasure of the LORD will prosper in His hand."

That "guilt offering" was made on behalf of you and me as our sin made it necessary for the LORD to crush his own Son to pay for our sins and to make it right with God. The wrath of God was inflicted on Jesus because of our sin. It was a propitiation -an appeasement - for God is Holy and we are not. We have to be made holy in the eyes of God.
Jesus did not die because of Romans, Jews or to be a social justice martyr.
Jesus died because of "Food Poisoning" as the fruit used in the garden infected Adam and Eve and us. This disease is inherited as the whole of humanity is damaged by sin.

Our sins are great -but do we confess it and preach it in our ministries? Is their teaching that their must be repentance of sins, AND then a profession that "Christ is Lord" to be made saved by God?

So how is the"The World's #1 Problem" avoided in church.

All three services declared the victory.
But what was the victory over?

Our victory is over our #1 problem is----FOOD POISONING!
A.K.A. our heinous sin.
Joel Osteen, pastor of the largest church in America with a huge media ministry says
in USA Weekend Easter Sunday 4/26/11
we are just missing the mark.
"I tell people, "You are created a masterpiece..' If you are missing the mark, that's what sin is. You are missing the best of what God offers you."
Missing the mark language comes from breaking down the Greek word for sin.
I do not see the use of bringing missing the target in archery as a definition for sin.
As in most subjects we try to avoid, God clearly defines sin in His word.

1 John 3:4 [ESV]
"Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness."

Lying, murder, rape and brutality-whoops- humanity is just not "missing the mark" humanity is breaking the bow and throwing it down in defiance." And if you think you are off the hook because "I am not like thoses people" you are wrong.

Jesus made it clear in the "Sermon On The Mount" [Matthew chs 5-7] that if we hate we are no better off than a murderer. If we think evil thoughts we practice the same sin as that of any sexually immoral person.
In Luke 18 Jesus asks the young ruler if he has obeyed the commandments when the ruler is asked about eternal life. This fine young man lied to Jesus. He said he had kept them all. He then violated the first commandment, having "no other gods before me, by refusing to forsake all and follow Jesus.

What is the Good News then.
We were fallen and can not get up. But we have a champion who makes us right with God His Father.
We are liars, thieves, murders and blasphemers-and can not stop it-or atone for it.
We have a Savior who atoned for our many sins.

Romans 5:8-10
" 8But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
9Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.
10For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life."

The innocent Lamb of God took the punishment for all believers from Adam till His return. Have you heard the Good News repented and confessed Jesus as Lord?
Jesus paid for out sins in the most brutal and crushing way-and even more scandolous is this-as it pleased his Father-to see the perfect one-His only Son- crushed-we the liars, thieves, murderous blasphemers.
Jesus was not just a loving sympathetic man.

He was and is flesh and God.
The payment to please the wrath of God for violators-shatterers of the Law like us.
Now that's a Savior I'll die for.
Food poisoning-sin entered into the world with the first Adam-the last Adam Christ dealt with it.
1st Corinthians 15:45
"45So also it is written, "The A LIVING SOUL " The last Adam became a life-giving spirit."

Jesus Christ is the only solution to the world's #1 problem sin. His answeris His blood to make us right with God. His resurrection confirms and shows us the victory.
He did not come to be a life coach or a motivational figure-He came to save us from our sins. Matthew 20:28 [ESV] "28just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."
How is the Christian Church Universal, the light bearer of the gospel,so often missing this?
